How does COVID-19 Affects the Skin?      

Corona virus is a disease that affects mainly the respiratory organs, but in some cases, it can also affect the skin. Skin gets affected easily because corona virus is firstly contact with skin. The symptoms of corona virus affected to skin are in different forms like rashes, irritation, blisters etc. Excessive use of sanitizers and soaps also affects the skin. The unnecessary use of hand sanitizers causes dryness and dehydration of skin and it also feels itchy and wrinkled. Skin allergies are observed in more than one-fifth of the patients with COVID-19.

Symptoms:

·       Widespread small red bumps and multiple flat red patches.

·        Redness of the whites of the eyes.

·        Covid toes-it can affect hands or feet, or both at a time.

·     Water blisters, is small fluid-filled micro-blisters that may appear early in     the disease or at any time, often on the hands.

·       Hives is or red itchy rashes that may appear as raised red lumps.

Prevention:

·        Use cool water with soap to clean your hands whereas hot water can             increase skin damage.

·        Wear gloves when cleaning to protect the skin.

·        After washing your hands, clean the hands with cloth and apply                    moisturizer.

·       Clean and moisturize your face before and after using a mask.

The health professionals controlling the spread of corona virus are prone to skin. The skin should be protected from environment where virus exists, for this, the required amount of soaps and sanitizers should be used. Patients with a skin disease should follow the proper precautions to avoid contacting the virus.
